About the Association
No, though the association is primarily composed of commercial, military and general aviation pilots, it is open to student pilots, aviation enthusiasts and anyone else who wants to hang out with a bunch of flyers. We have members who are mechanics, air traffic controllers, flight attendants, in aircraft insurance / sales - or in completely unrelated fields, such as police officers.
Our members are approximately a 50/50 mix of general aviation pilots and commercial pilots. Our membership also includes military pilots and people in other aviation fields, as well as members of the general public.
Approximately 5% of our members are women. We have a women’s coordinator, and we have had a booth at the Women In Aviation conference, hoping to attract more female members.
About 10% of our members are from outside the U.S. mainly from Canada and Europe, but also from such places as Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, United Arab Emirates, and China.
